GEL & FOAMING CLEANSERS

Gel cleansers are great to use day and night: they wake you up in the morning, helping to remove overnight skin cell buildup, and clean off sunscreen, grime and dirt at night.  However when choosing a foaming cleanser, it is really important that it does not strip the skin of its natural oils, in other words, the skin's hydrolipidic film.

The hydrolipidic film is a natural shield on the skin which protects from outside agressors, and when this is removed by harsh foaming cleansers, the skin will feel tight and dry.  For oily skin, this will cause an inbalance creating dry cheeks and oily T Zone.  At worse, acne and breakouts.  Even worse reaction can be seen on sensitive and dry skin, causing further sensitivity and dryness and in some cases, eczema and rosacea.  A synthetic foaming cleanser is likely to do this, as generally ingredients are harsh and 'soap like'.  A classic ingredient in these products is sodium laureth sulphate/sulfate, in-fact any sulphate ingredients will likely do the same.

A 'naturally foaming' gel cleanser only uses natural emulsifyers such as oats, sugar, corn, coconut, olive oil to name a few, which gently remove dirt and grime, whilst preserving the hydrolipidic film.  When these ingredients are used, skin becomes more balanced and healthy, and less liable to breakouts and sensitivity.
